Like it or not, but Gmail has now made the new pop-up based Compose feature default for each and every Google Mail user. This new interface in the web based Gmail service, while composing emails, deliver users a pop up window whenever they click on the “Compose” button.
The pop up window allow the users to compose multiple emails to different recipients on the go. It contains all the features that the old composing interface used to have i.e. allows you to select recipients, enter subject, formatting options, attach different files, insert files from Google Drive, and even input emoticons.
Although, it is a convenient way of composing multiple emails quickly and send them to different contacts immediately, but unfortunately, it has been hated more than being liked.
If you are one of those who didn’t really like this new Gmail Compose feature, then you might have been searching for a way to disable or turn off this pop up window and get back the old mail composing interface in your Gmail account.
But unfortunately, Gmail has made it default for all Gmail users, so you cannot get back the old compose interface in your Gmail account permanently. But, there’s a simple way to turn it off temporarily and get back the old Gmail Compose interface for a while. Here’s how:
How to Get Back the Old Gmail Compose Interface?
(2) Now, the pop-up compose window will appear.
(3) You will see an arrow button in the bottom left corner of the pop up window. Just click on it and then select “Temporarily switch back to old compose” from the prompted options menu. Now, you will get a message like this:
“Thanks for trying out the new compose
Remember that this is just a temporary solution and the old compose interface will be going very soon. But we are hoping for a Firefox addon or Chrome extension, or any browser script which could disable it in the local PC.
Anyways, you can freely use any other Gmail client to get attached with the old compose, or even use the basic version of Gmail to stay with the old compose mode. If you know any other way to get back the old compose feature permanently, don’t hesitate to share it with our readers.
